About this Role 

THEHAUSS, INC. is looking to collaborate with an experienced and detail-driven Flooring Contractor to install high-end flooring solutions for our residential and boutique commercial interior design projects. From hardwood to luxury vinyl, natural stone, and decorative inlays, you’ll help define the character and flow of our spaces — with precision, artistry, and respect for design vision.

Key Responsibilities 

Install a variety of flooring types: hardwood, LVP, tile, laminate, stone, and engineered wood

Prep subfloors, level surfaces, and manage underlayments and transitions

Follow layout plans, custom patterns (e.g., herringbone or diagonal installs), and room-specific details

Coordinate with designers to align material placement with visual intent

Ensure tight seams, smooth finishes, and detailed edge work

Maintain clean workspaces and protect surrounding areas

Compensation

$40–$75/hour, or flat project pricing based on floor area and complexity

Bonuses available for timely completion, precision installs, and pattern work

Material reimbursements and travel stipends available

Payment per milestone or project phase

Licensing & Requirements 

No specific NC license required for most flooring installs

Business license and liability insurance preferred for 1099 contractors

Must sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and NDA

Own tools, transportation, and PPE required

Background check may be requested for residential clients

Workspace

On-site at THEHAUSS projects across Raleigh and nearby areas

Collaborate with project managers and designers via Asana, Google Drive, and Zoom

Installers must provide tools, and designers will supply layout plans and finish specs

Opportunity to work alongside other detail-focused trades

3+ years of experience in professional flooring installation

Skilled in cutting, laying, sanding, and finishing various flooring types

Familiarity with subfloor prep, moisture barriers, and trim work

Experience working in high-end residential environments

Bonus: knowledge of radiant heating systems or acoustic underlayments
