As a Painter at THEHAUSS, you will play a vital role in bringing our interior and exterior design visions to life. We’re looking for skilled, detail-oriented professionals who are passionate about precision, color, and high-quality finishes. You’ll work on a range of residential and commercial projects, collaborating closely with our designers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities 

Prepare surfaces (sanding, patching, priming) for painting

Apply paint, stain, and coatings to interiors, exteriors, furniture, and fixtures

Collaborate with design team on color matching and application techniques

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Travel to project sites within the Raleigh area (transportation required)

Compensation

$20–$35/hour, based on experience and skill

Bonuses available for timely completion, referrals, or specialty finishes

Milestone-based payments for longer projects

Potential for long-term collaboration or retainer agreements

Licensing & Requirements 

No formal license is required for general painting services in North Carolina

If working on projects exceeding $40,000, a General Contractor license may be required by law (THEHAUSS will assign accordingly)

Must sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

Business license and liability insurance are preferred for independent contractors

Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Background check may be requested for certain residential or high-end commercial projects

Must demonstrate experience and skill in surface preparation, paint application, and finish work

Workspace

We are open to both independent contractors (1099) and part-time employees. All backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

2+ years of professional painting experience preferred

Familiar with interior and exterior paints, primers, stains, and surface types

Strong attention to detail and finish quality

Reliable transportation and punctuality required

Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe material handling a plus
