About this Role 

THEHAUSS, INC. is seeking an intuitive and knowledgeable Color Consultant to support our design projects through expert palette development, paint selection, and color strategy. This role is ideal for someone who understands the emotional impact of color and knows how to create cohesive, timeless, or trend-forward palettes for interiors and exteriors.

Whether you’re selecting the perfect wall paint, coordinating textile tones, or advising on facade finishes, your role will shape how our clients feel in their spaces.

Key Responsibilities 

Develop color palettes for interiors, exteriors, finishes, and furnishings

Provide in-person or virtual consultation sessions with clients

Coordinate with designers, painters, and stylists to bring color schemes to life

Prepare visual mood boards and annotated color plans

Recommend paint brands, finishes, and eco-friendly options

Stay current on color trends, seasonal shifts, and timeless combinations

Compensation

$75–$150 per consultation, depending on scope

Flat-rate or hourly options for larger projects

Commission bonus on product sales (if applicable)

Travel stipends for in-person consults beyond Raleigh

Licensing & Requirements 

No license required

Must sign NDA and Independent Contractor Agreement

Must provide own materials: swatches, digital tools, color decks, etc.

Availability for virtual or on-site sessions (per project)

Workspace

Flexible: work from your home office or at client sites as needed

Virtual consultations supported via Zoom/Google Meet

Collaboration through shared platforms (Google Drive, Asana, Wix dashboard)

Color selection tools, mood board apps, and vendor links preferred

Background in interior design, fine arts, color theory, or related field

2+ years of experience in color consulting or paint specification

Familiarity with top paint brands (Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, Farrow & Ball, etc.)

Strong portfolio showing palette development and real-world implementation

Bonus: Experience in color psychology or visual merchandising
